Triberga borg is relatively small with an inner diameter of 60 meters while the outer diameter amounts to about 110 meters. The ringfort also has an outer wall, today a low turfed embankment with a width of five meters. The height of the wall is just over two meters, originally about four to five meters. The width varies between six and nine meters, but should from the beginning have amounted to about five meters. A partially filled depression within the castle is probably the remains of a well.
The ringfort is usually compared in its construction with Eketorps borg and it is probable that Triberga borg was also used at the beginning of the Middle Ages. The ringfort is also usually associated with trade and communication, as it is located on an old stretch of road. This "ancient road", which is partly paved, starts at Triberga and leads over Stora Alvaret further towards Resmo church, on the west side.
In addition to the ancient ringfort, there are also a number of tombs out on the hill. Particularly distinctive is a 350 meter long lane with 11 stone settings and a burial ground. There is also a larger cairn with a brim 31 meters in diameter and 1.5 meters high.
The ringforts on Öland are traditionally dated to the time of migration (400-550 AD). Today it is known that many are built earlier than that. They were built as a defense in external attacks, but several have also served as trading posts.
