This is a small, circular defense wall with internal dimensions 67-68 m. The wall is demolished and of insignificant height. A sunken entrance is located in the southwest. The ringfort has previously been cultivated. During investigations, a workshop area was found with two iron furnaces, slag and traces of other metal handling. The oldest finds take us back to the pre-Roman Iron Age, but the ringfort is said to have been used in Roman times.
The ringforts on Öland are traditionally dated to the time of migration (400-550 AD). Today it is known that many are built earlier than that. They were built as a defense in external attacks, but several have also served as trading posts.
